READING BY 3RD GRADE   


Outcomes  

                        
● The percentage of multilingual learners in grades K-3 demonstrating progress in language acquisition per the WIDA will increase by 5 percentage points from 40% to 45%. 
● The percentage of students in grades K-3 meeting or exceeding the VALLSS screener benchmarks will increase by 5 percentage points from fall 2024 to spring 2025.  

       
Strategies        

                    
● Increase teacher content knowledge of evidence-based literacy instruction aligned with science-based reading research to improve implementation of new core curriculum.
● Increase use of data to plan instruction and monitor progress during intervention to ensure that students demonstrating risk master foundational skills.
● Increase opportunities for English Language Development through use of embedded strategies during whole group instruction and intentional small group instruction focused on specific student needs. 

                         

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL MATH

 
Outcomes   

    
● By the end of the 24-25 school year, 65% of students with disabilities in grades 3-6 will pass the math SOL. This will increase from a 55% pass rate in the 23-24 school year.
● By the end of the 24-25 school year, the pass rate for all grade levels will raise by 5% as measured by their grade level end of year assessment.

K - improve 5% fall to spring on % of students meeting benchmark on EMAS 
1-2 compare fall to spring, all tier 2 and 3 students make at least expected growth  (collective)
3 - 6 SOL increase by 5% unadjusted rates (collective)                     


Strategies    

                        
● Increase teacher implementation of explicit instruction and other components of effective mathematics intervention.
● Increase teachers' content knowledge and implementation of the 2023 FCPS mathematics program of studies.
● Increase teacher's implementation strategies related to Shift 8: from looking for correct answers towards revealing student thinking.                           
 

SOCIO-EMOTIONAL LEARNING & WELLNESS    

                     
Outcomes  

● By the end of the 2024-2025 school year, all students will report an improvement in emotional regulation as evidenced by increasing school-wide scores in the emotional regulation topic of the SEL screener by 5%.
The SEL screener will be administered in October 2024. This will provide data for our starting point.                           
 

Strategies          

                  
● All school administrators and staff regularly model social and emotional competencies in their interactions with others, to include interactions with students, families, and one another.
● MTSS Schoolwide and Site Intervention teams analyze behavior/wellness data bi-monthly to evaluate implementation of Tier 1 SEL/wellness initiatives and identify students in need of Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions.
● All staff are able to recognize warning signs that a student may be experiencing a mental health and/or substance use challenge, and utilize timely referral processes connecting students to data-driven, evidence-based interventions.
